Marge’s Place, a home away from home for families throughout San Juan County who face the crisis of domestic violence.
Marge’s Place is a 14-bedroom protective shelter for domestic violence victims and their children to find safety and a time to heal. It will replace two overcrowded homes that currently house families in crisis because of domestic violence. Marge’s Place will welcome hundreds of people every year and provide them with a home-away-from-home. Marge’s place will re-assure victims that the community cares. Plaques outside each door will show that someone cared enough to adopt that room to ensure guests will be warmly welcomed and kept safe. The floral theme throughout the building will communicate hope.
