About our organization
Serving Survivors. Strengthening Community. Breaking the Cycle.
Established in 1978, the Family Crisis Center (FCC) is the largest provider of domestic violence services in the Four Corners region.
As a well-recognized and trusted nonprofit, FCC has served the community for over four decades, offering compassionate, comprehensive support to victims, survivors, child witnesses, offenders, and the community at large.
Could This Be Abuse?
Founded by Marge Atkinson, a pioneer in domestic violence advocacy, FCC continues to honor her legacy through two primary service locations:
- Marge’s Place, a protective shelter offering safety and stability for victims and their children.
- The Counseling Center, which provides trauma-informed therapy and support services for individuals impacted by domestic violence, including survivors, children, and offenders
Healing, Empowerment, and Lasting Change
We operate through a trauma-informed lens, recognizing the lasting effects of abuse and prioritizing healing, empowerment, and long-term recovery. Our team works to ensure that every person who walks through our doors is met with respect, understanding, and the resources needed to rebuild their life.
At Family Crisis Center, we believe safety is just the beginning. Through education, advocacy, and community collaboration, we are committed to breaking the cycle of violence one person, one family, one future at a time.
Support a child
With as little as $X/month, you can make an impact on a child's life. Your donation will help a child stay in school/daycare, receive personal care, food, and receive counseling.
Support a family
When you support a program, you support X women and their families. Your donation will help our program run smoothly, and continue to offer rehabilitative help to those who need it.
Our Mission
The mission of the Family Crisis Center (FCC) is to enhance community harmony and strengthen families and individuals by promoting health, well-being and non-violence through prevention, education, intervention, treatment, and shelter services. We are guided by the principles of self-determination, accountability, respect and integrity in our service to others.
