Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers play a vital role in supporting the mission of Family Crisis Center. Opportunities include administrative assistance, event support, donation sorting, and working directly with programs staff.

Intern Process Overview:

We also offer internship opportunities for students and professionals looking to gain experience. Please note that all volunteer and intern positions require a pre-screening process, including background checks and interviews, to ensure the safety and confidentiality of our clients.

  • What should I know before becoming a volunteer?

    If you don't have any previous experience with domestic violence survivors, don't worry. We'll give you all the info and training required to make sure you'll know what to do. All you need is the willingness to volunteer.


    You should also know that it can be challenging at times  but we'll train you so you'll know what to do when this happens.

  • What kind of volunteer opportunities are available?

    We offer a variety of volunteer roles from helping with donation drives and sorting supplies to assisting with events, office support, or community outreach. Some volunteers also help with child activities or facility maintenance. There’s a place for every skill and schedule.

  • Will I be working directly with survivors?

    Some volunteer roles involve survivor interaction, but many do not. We’ll talk with you about your comfort level and interests during the application process and find a good fit for you.

  • What qualities are most important for volunteering in this setting?

    Compassion, patience, respect for confidentiality, and a willingness to listen are essential. We also value reliability and an open mind, qualities that help create a safe, supportive environment for the families we serve.
