Community Outreach & Education
Knowledge That Protects. Education That Heals
Building Awareness. Preventing Harm. Creating Safer Communities.
At Family Crisis Center, we believe that education is one of the most powerful tools in preventing domestic violence and abuse. By teaching both youth and adults about healthy relationships, warning signs, boundaries, and resources, we help create a safer, more informed community.
Our outreach programs are designed for schools, workplaces, and community groups throughout San Juan County. Each presentation is designed to fit the audience, time constraints, and specific needs, whether it’s a quick lunch-and-learn or an in-depth training.
What We Do:
- Empower Youth:
We work with local schools to teach students about healthy relationships, bullying prevention, dating violence, and self-worth. Our evidence-based curriculum is interactive, age-appropriate, and focused on building empathy and respect.
- Support Professionals:
We partner with workplaces to help employers and employees understand how domestic violence can impact the work environment and what to do when it does. Our trainings cover recognizing signs of abuse, offering safe support, creating safety plans, and understanding the role businesses can play in breaking the cycle.
Why It Matters:
When people understand what abuse looks like whether emotional, physical, sexual, or financial they’re better equipped to seek help, support others, and hold offenders accountable. Education creates space for healing, safety, and accountability before harm happens.
